Aspen Meadows Resort, Hotel Jerome, and The Little Nell are teaming up to present a brand new culinary showcase this fall, the Aspen Pastry Invitational, where pastry chefs will converge to share their talent via delectable treats and interactive workshops.
From Oct. 17 to 19 and across three Aspen hotels, the weekend will blend epicurean indulgence and hands-on learning.
“Aspen is no stranger to culinary events and accolades, recently solidifying its place as a food destination with the Michelin Guide to Colorado and having hosted the Food & Wine Classic for 40 years,” Hotel Jerome General Manager Patrick Davila said in a prepared statement. “When our pastry chef Ben Kunert approached me with this idea, it seemed like a great way to bring some of the world’s best pastry chefs to Aspen for a pastry-centric event. We see this inaugural event as a way for dabblers and professionals alike to refine their skills and, most importantly, enjoy their own creations.”
Six pastry chefs will present a variety of workshops on topics such as French pastries, including the art of perfecting éclairs, and a deep dive into healthy pastries — with helpful tips for creating delicious vegan, gluten-free, and low-sugar treats. Dessert social hours will give those wanting to just taste (vs. learn) a chance to join the fun.
Participating chefs include Hotel Jerome’s Pastry Chef Ben Kunert; Aspen Meadows Resort’s Executive Pastry Chef Sarah Figueiredo; The Little Nell’s Pastry Chef Barbara Marcos; Owner and Creator of Tout Chocolat, a world-renowned chocolate and pastry shop, Chef Luis Robledo; Latin America Best Pastry Chef and Creative Chef at Theurel & Thomas Sofia Cortina; as well as Bay Area-based Pastry Chef Tina Nguyen, who blends Asian flavors with classic recipes through her bakery business The Baking Endeavor.
Tickets are $45 for individual workshops; $75 for individual social events; $125 for a three-workshop pass; and $225 for an all-access pass.
