The Kerala wicket-keeper’s counter-attacking knock was laced with 11 boundaries and three sixes. The 29-year-old strode to the crease after skipper Shreyas Iyer fell for nought.
After a brief partnership with Ricky Bhui, who scored a fifty, Samson took on the role of aggressor, forging a partnership with Saransh Jain to take the team to 306/5 at stumps on Day 1.
Despite losing Saransh early on Day 2, Samson batted on with Saurabh Kumar joining him at the other end. The batter brought up his ton in 95 balls to put India D in the driver’s seat against India B.
