Poland’s export turnover in January-July this year at current prices amounted to PLN 875.3 billion—a year-on-year (YoY) decrease of 8.8 per cent, while import turnover was PLN 859 billion—a YoY fall of 7.3 per cent.

Compared to a trade surplus of PLN 33.3 billion in the first seven months last year, the figure was PLN 16.3 billion in same period this year, according to Statistics Poland.

Exports expressed in US dollars amounted to $218.9 billion during the period—a YoY decrease of 2.4 per cent, while imports amounted to $214.8 billion—a YoY drop of 0.8 per cent. Exports expressed in euro amounted to €202.4 billion, while imports amounted to €198.6 billion during the period.

Exports to the main trading partners dropped YoY during the period, except Ukraine—exports to where increased by 7 per cent—and the United States and the United Kingdom—exports to where increased by 0.3 per cent.

Imports during the period from the main trading partners dropped YoY, barring the United States (a 7.7-per cent rise) and Norway (a 6-per cent rise).

The export turnover with the top ten Polish trade partners during the seven-month period accounted for 66.1 per cent of the total exports during the period; the figure was 66.5 per cent in the same period last year. For imports, the figure was 61.1 per cent this year compared with 60.5 in January-July 2023.
