National Weather Service issues Fire Weather Watch alert for Pitkin County

The Grand Junction National Weather Service issued a Fire Weather Watch for areas below 8,000 feet from the afternoon through the evening on Thursday, Sept. 12, according to a PitkinAlert.

A fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecasted to occur. The watch below 8,000 feet is for gusty winds, low humidity and dry fuels.
