The police of Beed district of maharashtra have registered a case against bharatiya janata party (BJP) mla Nitesh Rane for allegedly targeting Muslims in his recent speeches in Ahmednagar district. Including the latest FIR, at least four such cases have been registered against the mla in the state. The Parli city police of the district registered a case against Rane after more than 300 people from the Muslim community demonstrated outside the police station on wednesday demanding action, the official said.

Nitesh Rane addressed two public meetings in support of Hindu saint Mahant Ramgiri Maharaj in Shrirampur and Topkhana areas of Ahmednagar district on september 1. Rane was in the news last month for making derogatory remarks about islam and Prophet Mohammad. The mla had warned that if Maharaj was harmed, there would be consequences.

Earlier, two cases were registered against Nitesh Rane at Topkhana and Shrirampur police stations in Ahmednagar district for alleged hate speech.
