Duleep Trophy 2024 LIVE Score, Day 2: Musheer nears 200, IND B 290/7 vs IND A; IND D 8/0 vs IND D

India C rides on Indrajith’s lone valiance to eke out a slender four-run advantage. Saransh Jain getting some purchase towards the fag end suggests there might be a window for spinners in the second innings.

Another fine session for India B — 88 runs added without losing a wicket. Musheer Khan is past 150. There was no visible energy in how India A went about their jobs on Friday morning. They came very close to breaking the Musheer-Saini partnership when the batters were involved in a mix up over a single. But Khaleel Ahmed helped them with some rank-bad fielding. Riyan Parag trapped Saini in front on the stroke of lunch but umpire didn’t give it out and India A had exhausted all reviews. But for Dhruv Jurel’s keeping, India A had nothing to show.

Lunch taken in Bengaluru as well. Musheer and Saini went back unbeaten as India B added 88 runs to the overnight total of 202. 

Saransh Jain removes set-batter Indrajith for 72 to bundle out India C on 168. The Ruturaj Gaikwad side take a four-run first innings lead.

Indrajith cuts a short delivery towards backward point for a four and India C gets into the lead. 

Anshul Kamboj loses it, he goes for a big shot but does not find elevation. Arshdeep runs from mid-off to complete a fairly straightforward catch. India C is nine down as it trails by five runs. 

150 up for Musheer! A brilliant innings and it is only getting better for the Mumbai lad. 

A couple of solid shots fetch Baba Indrajith two boundaries in the six deliveries. He takes a single which brings fifty for him. These runs are gold dust for India C, which only trails by just 25 runs now. 

The eighth wicket stand between Musheer and Saini is now worth 169 runs. There is no sign of stopping or slowing down from both India B batters as the partnership continues to irritate India A bowlers. 

It’s been an hour-and-a-half of non-stop pace bowling. Arshdeep and Harshit have operated for the major part of the session so far, giving away just two boundaries. India C has added just 26 runs this morning at the expense of four wickets. Baba Indrajith is the last hope for the side, who remains unbeaten on 28 off 88 balls.

Musheer is nearing his 150 while Navdeep Saini is closing in on a half-century. The duo has already added more than 150 runs so far for the eighth wicket.

Musheer continues to frustrate bowlers with his solid defence. Navdeep Saini has given tremendous support from the other end. Seems like bowlers are running out of ideas to break this partnership. 

Rana strikes again! Manav Suthar was pushed on backfoot throughout his 14-ball stay and finally the set up worked. Hard length delivery on the body and Suthar tried to keep it down but the ball went straight to gully. 

Despite new ball, not a lot of movement on offer for the seamers today in Bengaluru. Yesterday, there was plenty of movement even with the new ball but today the conditions have changed a bit. 

Harshit Rana gives the first breakthrough of the day as he traps Porel in front. Seaming in delivery, Porel went tried to go for the on drive but was beaten. He took a review after gave him out, but three reds confirmed his dismissal. He is out for 34. 

Aditya Thakare bowls the first over of the day in India C vs India D match in Anantapur while Harshit Rana runs in from the other end. 

India C is 95/4, trailing by 70 runs. Porel and Indrajith are the overnight batters. 

In Bengaluru, Avesh Khan and Akash Deep have resumed for India A. Centurion Musheer along with his partner Navdeep Saini continue to build on the eighth wicket stand that has already 100 runs.

Duleep Trophy 2024: ‘I was trying to play close to my body to counter swing and cut,’ says Musheer Khan after century

After underscoring his talent with a robust hundred, Musheer Khan on Thursday said he centred his batting strategy around playing close to the body to nullify the pronounced movement of the ball in overcast conditions.

Shubman Gill took a stunning catch to dismiss Rishabh Pant, who was making his red ball return after nearly two years.

Musheer Khan rescued India B with a gutsy century (105 batting, 227b, 10x4, 2x6) on day one of its Duleep Trophy encounter against India A at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium here.

Axar Patel’s (86, 118b, 6x4, 6x6) rescue act, which included an 84-run ninth-wicket partnership with Arshdeep Singh, on Thursday, prevented India D’s Duleep Trophy fixture against India C from turning into a one-sided affair at the Rural Trust Development Stadium.

Axar sparked the contest to life in the second session with two sixes and a boundary off Manav Suthar, and reinvigorated the spectators, who were drifting into a post-lunch snooze.
