Sony Bravia 2 s25 vs LG 55 QNED82T6A

Both 55 inch TV's, the lg seems to support local dimming whereas the Sony has the x1 processor. Can't find the ratings reviews for any of these online. Help me decide which is one is better

Sony for 62k
LG for 68k
 
I have no idea about tvs, but local dimming if implemented well ( or oled) is needed for proper HDR and better contrast vs native ips/VA.
Sony model seems to have 'Frame dimming' which from description doesn't seem like much.

This will only matter for upscaling so when watching 720p/1080p content when screen resolution is 4k the content needs to be upscaled to 4k. The quality of upscaling will depend on the hardware & there is no guarantee that upscaled content will always look good but usually better/more powerful hardware means better upscaling.

What is the type of media consumption?
If just OTT & Movies -- Go for the one with Local Dimming.
If more of SD TV Channels -- Go for the one with better upscaling
 
Buy Sony X74L for under 50k & call it a day. I doubt there's any major improvement between X74L & Bravia 2.

From what I have seen in TVs at showroom, cheap 55" 4K Samsung or LG at 40k are enough for most, Sony has a bit better colour tuning, so can spend few thousands extra. But 60-80k TVs mostly don't seem much better. The noticeably better TVs in my experience have been OLEDs or good FALD LCDs with high zone count & high brightness. I think QNED 82 has edge dimming zones, IMO those are worse than no dimming zones. You need at least FALD 100 zones to make it not noticeable IMO.

yeah, thats i was confused about the dimming for the QNED. So the local dimming for the QNED isnt the good local dimming?

The x74L seems to sell for 58k on amazon, will enquire in the shop and im getting, the bravia 2 is coming for 62k. So if the price difference isnt much im going to assume i can go ahead with the bravia 2?

No, its older model had 6 edge zones.

If Bravia 2k is 4 extra, maybe you can buy it. I didn't check any reviews of Bravia 2, so just check some. Sony can potentially launch something worse than the older cheaper model at a higher price.

But X74L goes for under 50k regularly, it wasn't a typo:

Just wait for the biggest sale of the year starting on FK & amazon at the end of this month.
