Earlier this year, we learned that Apple’s next iPhone SE will feature an OLED screen and that BOE, LG Display, and Samsung Display were in a bid to supply the display panel. A month down the line, we learned that Samsung Display has withdrawn its proposal to supply OLED panels for the iPhone SE4 due to price-related issues, meaning that it won’t supply display panels for the next iPhone SE. Well, today we have another confirmation on the matter.

According to a new report from Nikkei Asia, Apple has started placing orders for OLED displays for the next generation iPhone SE with China’s BOE and South Korea’s LG Display, confirming that Samsung Display won’t supply OLED screens for the iPhone SE4.

The story continues after the video…

Currently, Samsung Display is Apple’s biggest supplier of OLED displays for iPhones, fulfilling almost half of the Cupertino-based tech giant’s requirements. In comparison, BOE and LG Display supply 20% and 30% of display panels required for iPhones. However, these numbers will now change as BOE and LG Display will be supplying OLED panels for the iPhone SE4 as well.
