In a significant move towards promoting organic farming in India, the National Cooperative Organics Limited (NCOL) is slated to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Uttarakhand Organic Products Council. The event is likely to be graced by Union Home and Cooperation Minister, Amit Shah.

The signing ceremony will take place at 4 PM in the Conference Hall of the Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan in New Delhi today on Friday. This agreement is expected to strengthen the cooperative movement in the organic sector, boosting the production and distribution of organic products in Uttarakhand and beyond.

The partnership is set to pave the way for increased access to organic products across the country, benefiting both producers and consumers.

National Cooperative Organics Limited is jointly promoted by Amul, National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India Ltd (NCCF), National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd (NAFED), National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC). It is launched with an authorized capital of Rs 500 crore.

The NCOL is acting as an umbrella organisation by managing the entire supply chain of organic products produced by various cooperative societies and related institutions across the country in collaboration with the concerned Ministries of the Government of India, following the ‘Whole of Government Approach’.
