Google has announced an increase in the subscription prices for YouTube Premium in India, affecting Student, Individual, and Family plans. The Family plan has experienced the most substantial hike.

The subscription price for YouTube Premium, which was initially introduced in India in 2019 at Rs 129 per month, has now been adjusted to Rs 149, marking a 15.5% increase.

The Family plan, originally priced at Rs 189 per month and allowing up to five additional members, has increased to Rs 299, reflecting a 58.2% rise.

The Student plan has also seen a price adjustment, from Rs 79 to Rs 89, an increase of 12.65%. Prepaid plans have similarly been updated.

Existing subscribers are reportedly being notified via email and must accept the new prices by September to continue their subscription.

The notification explains that these adjustments are intended to support improvements to the service and support creators and artists on YouTube.
