Lankering: Flouride and IQ

Fluoride is linked to lower IQ in kids. A report was recently published by the National Toxicology Program. This report has been available for several years but has been suppressed by public health officials. Even with this announcement, the CDC still supports fluoridation. This is another example of how the CDC is a captured agency that protects corporate interests instead of protecting our health.

Why would municipalities still add this neurotoxin to our waters when there is significant research indicating that it can damage the brain and other neurodevelopmental health issues, particularly for pregnant women and young children?

Propaganda has fooled the public for over 70 years. This includes that fluoride is naturally occurring in water. Natural fluoride is in the form of calcium fluoride — not sodium fluoride and its derivatives added to drinking water. These are different forms with extremely different impacts on our bodies.

Another myth is that “Fluoride is one of the 10 great public health achievements of the 20th century.” The problem is that the studies used have been determined to be of poor quality. Meanwhile, recent studies reviewed by the NTP have been rated “high-quality.”

Children over the last 70 years have been subject to this exposure. Environmental toxins continue to be added to our environment. Chronic disease continues to be a significant challenge and expense for our country.

When fluoride was first introduced, it was to try to help with dental decay. Now we know that it is a neurotoxin.

Why continue this insanity?
