Rohit Pandit, Secretary General, IPMA, said, “We are very pleased with the response to our first on-ground Paper Matters event, hosted in Goa. The biggest takeaway was striking an emotional chord in grandparents and their grandchildren through a playful activity involving paper. Paper Matters by IPMA will continue to implement a ‘phygital’ strategy to drive awareness and a love for paper, especially among the youth. We believe that paper, as a medium in everyday life, whether for students, packaging or hygiene products, is a sustainable and environmentally friendly choice for generations to come.”

Paper Matters is an initiative by IPMA dedicated to all paper enthusiasts. With Goa selected as the launch venue, the workshop was held in collaboration with Jane D’Souza of KookyKuriosity, a Goa-based social media influencer, blogger and creative specialist. It celebrates the goodness of paper and highlights its positive impact on our lives and the environment.

This initiative of Paper Matters aims to reconnect people of all ages with the love for paper through on-ground, local events across the country. The message will be amplified on social media and digital platforms.

The Grand Duos of Goa event invited 24 participants – 12 pairs of grandparents and grandchildren – to connect with each other over the simple, everyday medium of paper. The evening was filled with role-playing games, where grandparents completed tasks started by their grandchildren, and vice versa, all centred around paper and craft activities.

The event was even meaningful as the participants observed a ‘no-digital intervention’ policy, setting aside their mobile phones and other digital devices for a fully immersive experience.
