Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining shares closed higher in the Friday's session.

Oriental Trimex Ltd.(up 19.36%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 6.23%), MOIL Ltd.(up 2.80%), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.90%), Pokarna Ltd.(up 1.23%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(up 1.21%), 20 Microns Ltd.(up 1.11%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(up 0.71%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(up 0.55%) and Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(up 0.14%) stood among the top gainers.

Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(down 3.37%), NMDC Ltd.(down 2.03%), KIOCL Ltd.(down 0.64%) and Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(down 0.36%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 11.66 points up at 24823.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 33.02 points at 81086.21.

Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 4.97%), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.9%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.57%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 1.44%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 1.38%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 1.05%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 1.04%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.96%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(up 0.88%) and JSW Steel Ltd.(up 0.84%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 1.69%), Wipro Ltd.(down 1.28%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.14%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 1.11%), Asian Paints Ltd.(down 1.01%), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.97%), Titan Company Ltd.(down 0.96%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.88%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 0.86%) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.85%) closed in the red.
