Power outage reported from Aspen to Basalt
A power outage has been reported throughout the valley from Aspen to Basalt, according to a Pitkin County alert.
“Emergency services and Holy Cross Energy are aware of a power outage throughout the valley,” the alert states. “Do not call 911 unless you have an immediate emergency. Unknown what caused the outage and unknown time duration for restoration.
Pitkin County Emergency Manager Chris Breitbach said the outage was caused by two of the three transmission lines from Xcel Energy being inoperable.
“As of about six minutes ago, things have been resorted for Holy Cross and and they’re getting validation from Xcel Energy,” he said.
