East Bengal’s hopes of playing in the AFC Champions League 2 ended after a 2-3 loss to Turkmen side Altyn Asyr, in their preliminary round match, at the Salt Lake Stadium on Wednesday.

The home side started the match on an optimistic note, with David Lalhlansanga finding the net in the seventh minute, but it was the visitors who had the last laugh with two goals in the second half.
