The biggest story of the year in the auto industry has been the relaxation of clean-air mandates in March by the Biden Admin., easing the pressure on automakers to crank out EVs faster than the public is adopting them.

The White House was lobbied hard by Congress’s Automotive Caucus and the Alliance for Automotive Innovation, the industry’s lead lobbying arm.
