Despite the Nandini Sahakar scheme’s potential, no proposals have yet been received from women cooperatives in Bihar. However, as of March 31, 2024, the NCDC has disbursed a cumulative total of Rs 6426.36 crore for the development of cooperative societies exclusively promoted by women across the country.

This information was revealed by the Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha.

He informed that NCDC launched the Nandini Sahakar Scheme, a women-focused framework providing financial assistance, project formulation, hand-holding, and capacity development to support women cooperatives in business model-based activities.

This scheme, aligned with the principles of Atmanirbhar Bharat as outlined by the Prime Minister, aims to enhance the socio-economic status of women through entrepreneurial dynamism.
