CBI Arrests ED Officer for Taking Bribe in Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar

New Delhi, August 8 (Udaipur Kiran): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Sandeep Singh Yadav, an Assistant Director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), red-handed while accepting a bribe in Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar area. The CBI gave this information on Thursday.

In a statement issued here today, the CBI said that Assistant Director Sandeep Singh Yadav was arrested on the spot while taking a bribe of Rs 20 lakh from the son of a jeweler. According to the CBI, the ED had registered a case against the jeweler. The bribe amount was being taken in exchange for protection in that case. The CBI will register a FIR against the arrested ED Assistant Director.

It is worth mentioning that ED Assistant Directors have been arrested in the past for taking bribes to save businessmen. The CBI had arrested six Assistant Directors of the ED while taking a bribe of five crore rupees to save a businessman, Aman Dhall, in the Delhi liquor scam case.
