Hangzhou Asian Games bronze medallist Antim’s hopes of having a shot at fighting for the bronze medal through the repechage round also ended after Yetgil lost (victory by fall) to Germany’s Annika Wendle in the quarterfinals.

The Indian fails to clear the 2.20m height on the third try as well. Kushare is all out of the final. He ended his campaign with a joint 25th position.

The Indian gets distances of 55.81m, 53.22m, and 53.55m in her three attempts. That ranks her 15th out of 16 throwers in Group B. She finished 29th overall.

A timing of 13.16 seconds for the Indian which sees her cross the finish line in seventh place. She will move to the repechage rounds now.

Antim Panghal is blanked by Turkiye’s Zeynep Yetgil who gets a win by technical superiority. 

She will have a chance to make it to the repechage if Yetgil makes the final.

Archana with a massive win for India. She beats Xioana Shan 19-17, 1-11, 11-5, 11-9. India cuts the deficit to 1-2.

Manika loses her match 11-8, 7-11, 5-11, 7-11 to Annett Kaufmann. India now trails 0-2 to Germany. 

Next up: Archana Kamath vs Xiaona Shan.

Manika Batra will play the next match for India against the 18-year-old Annette Kaufmann.

Sreeja Akula and Archana Kamath go down 5-11, 11-8, 10-12, 6-11 in the opening match of the best of five tie against Germany.

Sreeja-Akula trail 2-1 after three games against Wan and Shan in the women’s table tennis quarterfinal.
