Bharatendu Kabi joins JSW as Executive Vice President and Group Head of Media and Communications, effective August 1, 2024. Kabi previously served as the Head of Corporate Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility at Hero MotoCorp.
Kabi announced the news in a LinkedIn post, expressing, “After being at the forefront of the automotive industry for nearly two decades and earlier in the soft drinks industry for six years, the canvas of learning has got a bit expanded now to Steel, Energy, Infrastructure, Cement, Paints, Defence, Ventures and Realty, with two areas still remaining the same – Mobility and Sports.”
He added, “Delighted to update that effective August 1, 2024, I have begun the new chapter of my professional journey as Executive VP and Group Head – Media & Communications at the US$24 billion JSW, one of India’s fastest growing conglomerates.”
Kabi will be based in Mumbai. In his post, he mentioned, “This also means exploring new frontiers— shifting of location to Mumbai after spending my entire work life of nearly three decades in my beloved Delhi-Gurgaon.”
Prior to this, Kabi served as the Head of Corporate Communication and CSR at Hero MotoCorp, where he was associated for nearly two decades. He joined Hero MotoCorp in 2005 after working with PepsiCo for more than five years.
His tenure with PepsiCo spanned from October 1999 to March 2005. He joined as a Media Advisor and was promoted to Corporate Communication Manager by April 2000.
He began his career as a journalist at the Press Trust of India (PTI), where he worked for four years and six months, from April 1995 to September 1999.
