Nisha Dahiya loses to North Korea’s Sol Gum Pak 10-8 in the quarterfinal. The arm injury looks to be too serious for Nisha who tried to brave on despite the evident pain. 

Nisha enjoyed a 8-2 lead when she suffered the injury and despite her will to continue and multiple attempts from the official doctor to tend to her, the injury causes her to concede points in the end and concede defeat. 

Nisha continues to fight on despite the pain. She clearly seems to be having an injury below the right wrist. The North Korean manages to turn her around and collect six more points. 8-8 now. 

India’s Nisha Dahiya suffers an injury scare in the middle of her quarterfinal against Sol Gum Park of North Korea. The official doctor is out to tend to her. Nisha currently has a comfortable 8-2 lead over her opponent.

Paris 2024 Olympics, Gymnastics: Japan’s Oka wins men’s horizontal bar gold medal

Japan’s Shinnosuke Oka won his third gold medal of the Paris Games on Monday with a powerful and precise routine on horizontal bar in a final riddled with mistakes.

India’s Lakshya Sen suffered a 21-13, 16-21, 11-21 loss at the hands of Malaysia’s Zii Jia Lee to miss out on bronze in the badminton Men’s Singles.

Malaysia’s Lee Zii Jia trumped India’s Lakshya Sen to clinch the bronze medal in the men’s badminton event of Paris Olympics 2024 on Monday.

A comeback 6-4 win for Nisha Dahiya over Ukraine’s Tetiana Sova Rizhko in the 1/8 elimination round of the Women’s 68kg wrestling takes her to the quarterfinal to be played later today.

India scores a perfect score of eight but the Chinese pair reply with a perfect score of their own to seal a 44-43 win and the bronze medal match.

Maheshwari Chahuhan and Anantjeet Singh Naruka have to settle for a fourth place finish in the Skeet Mixed team event. 

A 21-16 reverse for Lakshya Sen in the second game vs Zii Jia Lee in the bronze medal match. Onto the deciding set now.

Another perfect set of eight from China in the fifth set. Maheshwari and Anantjeet reply a perfect set of their own to maintain the Chinese lead at one.

A perfect set of 8 from Jiang and Lyu gives China a slender 28-27 advantage over India at the end of four sets. 

Maheshwari misses her last shot and India and China remain level at 20-20 after the third set of eight shots. 

A flurry of misses for Yitling Jiang brings India back into the contest at 13-13 against China. 

India trails China 7-8 after the first set of eight shots in the Skeet Mixed Team Bronze medal match. 

Maheshwari Chauhan hits the target in all her shots while Anantjeet Singh Naruka missed the target once.

Paris 2024 Olympics: Italy’s D’Amato claims balance beam gold as Biles finishes fifth after shocking fall

Italian gymnast Alice D’Amato emerged as the surprise champion on the balance beam at the Paris Olympics on Monday after favourite Simone Biles surprisingly fell off the 10cm wide apparatus during the final.

Lakshya Sen speeds to a 7-4 lead in the first game of the men’s singles bronze medal match against Malaysia’s Zii Jia Lee. 

South Korea’s An Se Young beats China’s He Bing Jao 21-13, 21-16 to win gold in the Badminton’s Women’s Singles. Gregoria Mariska Tungjung claimed bronze after Spain’s Carolina Marin pulled out due to injury. 

The bronze medal match between Lakshya and Lee will begin at 6PM IST.

India will take on China for the bronze medal at 6:30PM IST. 

The team of Maheshwari and Anant shot 49 in the final series to finish tied on 146 points.

India will play the winner of USA vs Germany quarterfinal.

Manika Batra takes the final game 11-9 to seal the contest and the tie. INDIA WINS 3-2!

The second game goes right down the wire. Manika was trailing 5-8 at one point but just about hangs on to take the second round 11-9.

The Indian manages a timing of 52.51 and finishes seventh out of eight runners. She will now take part in the repechage and have another shot at making the semifinals.

A winning start for the Indian. She takes the opener 11-5 after leading all the way in the game.

The winner takes takes it all.

Archana loses the fourth game 11-9 and the India vs Romania tie moves to a decider.

Szocs opens up a lead again. She had four game point, Archana was able to save one but loses eventually. 

India’s Kiran Pahal will be in action in the fifth heat. She has to finish in the top three to qualify for the semifinals. If she is outside the top three, she will be in action in the repechage round.

Archana went down 5-11 in the first game but bounces back to take the second 11-8.

Archana Kamath now in the singles match, playing to get India through to the quarterfinals.

Sreeja first cut a 5-1 deficit to 6-6. But Samara uses all her experience to take the game 11-8 and force a fourth match in this tie. 

Manara takes the fourth game 11-6 to keep Romania in the fight.

Sreeja comes back from a 3-5 deficit to take the third game 11-7. India win game away from a spot in the last eight.

Samara fights back with a strong 11-4 win in the second game. This is the first game India has dropped in the three matches do far.

The 26-year-old Indian is given a fight by Elizbeta Samara but she is able to close out the game with some breathing room. 

Maheshwari and Anant begin their second series. They’re both 3/3 as of now and a combined score of 49 will be enough to take India back into the second spot.

Manika wraps the game 11-5, 11-7, 11-7 to give India a 2-0 advantage. Sreeja Akula will play the next singles and a win for her will take India through to the quarterfinals.

The second game goes 11-7 to the Indian. She led from the very start and is one win away from taking a win.

Nine points on the trot for the Indian as she pulls back from 2-5 down to take the opening game.

A straight games win for the Indian pair. They take the final game 11-7 and win 3-0. India leads 1-0 as we head to the singles matches.

India leads 2-0 in this best of five doubles match. The Indian pair trailed 7-9 and then 9-10 but they won the crucial points to take the second game 12-10. One more game away from giving a 1-0 lead to the team.

Maheshwari misses one shot and ends with 24/25. A perfect 25 for Anant. India totals 49 after the first series and is tied in second place.

An 11-9 game for the Indian pair. They cut it close, allowing their opponents to come back from 8-2 down but Archana’s forehand smash finally gets India the game point.

India will be taking on Romania in the Round of 16.
