Seven months after its global debut, the Galaxy Tab A9+ Kids Edition is now available in the USA. This made-for-kids tablet comes with mid-range specifications and a ‘Puffy Case' that is a tough nut to crack.

The Galaxy Tab A9+ Kids Edition is a variant of the Galaxy Tab A9+ that comes preloaded with the Samsung Kids app, a Puffy Cover with a built-in kickstand, three Crayo-Pen styli, and two interchangeable tethers for the stylus. It is priced at $270, a $50 bump over the regular version.
The tablet can be bought from Samsung's website. It will be available through Amazon and Best Buy starting August 11, 2024. Its 5G variant will be available through Verizon by the end of August.

It is designed with safer protocols for kids, making it safe to get entertained and learn. Parents can create profiles for their kids and monitor their activities or restrict the tablet's usage to specific times of the day. They can restrict apps and block social media websites.
Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Tab A9+ Kids Edition with an 11-inch LCD screen with a WQXGA resolution (1,920 x 1,200 pixels). It comes with three Crayo-Pen styli (Blue, Red, and Yellow) that kids can use to draw and write. The tablet has a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos for immersive audio.
The tablet has a Snapdragon 695 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and a microSD card slot. While Samsung hasn't specified the operating system version of its new kids-focussed tablet, it likely runs Android 14-based One UI 6.1 software.
It has a 5MP front-facing camera and an 8MP rear-facing camera. It has a 7,040mAh battery with 15W fast charging. It also features GPS, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, and a USB Type-C port. The tablet measures 168.7 x 257.1 x 6.9mm and weighs 480g (without the case).
The Puffy Cover that comes bundled with the tablet is made of flexible, lightweight, and shockproof material. It is also safe for kids. If you already have a Galaxy Tab A9+, you can buy the Puffy Cover separately for $35.
