Lakshya Sen will play for a bronze medal. He pulled the great Viktor Axelsen right to the wire in the first game but the Dane proved he had more gears left in him. Lakshya was again dominant to start the second as he won seven points on the bounce. But yet again, Axelsen fought back and proved a step ahead.

Lakshya Sen opened the second game with seven points on the bounce. But yet again, Axelsen pulls back to not let Lakshya get too far ahead. The Indian is just ahead at the mid-way break.

Maheshwari Chauhan gets only 22 targets in the final series. That sees her drop from the 6th place to 13th - outside the qualification spots.

Jeswin Aldrin registers just one successful jump of 7.61m. He ends in the 13th place in his group and fails to make the final.

The Indian had three game point when he lead 20-17 but the defending champion fought back to take the opening game 22-20. A lot of positives to take for Lakshya but he’d be gutted to not close that game.

Paris 2024 Olympics: The Tokyo bronze medallist lost by a 4-1 spilt verdict to the first-seeded pugilist.

This is India’s second consecutive semifinal at the Olympics.

The Indian fails to register a clear jump on the first of his three attempts. He has two left to make it into the final.
