Sara Hildebrandt was named National Columbia Sheep Breeders Association Member of the Year at the National Columbia Sheep Show and Sale in Spanish Fork, UT. Sara has been involved with Columbia sheep her entire life. Since 2013, she served on the Board of Directors including three years as the National President.
Her most notable contributions to the Association were financial stability and business transparency. Sara is/was always at the cutting edge of promoting the Columbia breed and the CSBA. Troxel Columbias have raised outstanding Columbias for decades. Most recently Sara and her parents, Dave and Mary Troxel, and her family showed the National Champion Ewe in 2021 and showed both the Reserve National Champion Ram and Reserve National Champion Ewe in 2015.
Courtney also received the nostalgic Anne Key Sportsmanship Award. This award was voted on by the Junior Sheep members. It based on integrity, teamwork, patience, and spirit. In addition to that award, Courtney was the National Champion Showperson. She also was the Team Showmanship winner with a little girl from Utah.
During the sheep show she won Junior Reserve Champion Ewe with her Fall Ewe. Courtney has been the Treasurer on the National Junior Board for three years. Along with her mom, she has been involved in showing sheep all over the United States since she was born. This has been a year to remember and celebrate.
