During its latest earnings call with the investors, the South Korean firm confirmed that its next flagship will have industry-leading specifications.

Galaxy S25 upgrades include better cameras and processor

In a rare move, Samsung has revealed what to expect from its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S25. During the second quarter earnings call, Samsung MX Vice President Daniel Araujo named the Galaxy S25 and confirmed it will come with top-of-the-line camera and display upgrades. They also confirmed the phone will have an industry-best processor and memory for improved AI performance.

Araujo said, “So on your second question, we’ve consistently upgraded the hardware in our S Series to deliver industry-leading experiences to customers, and we’ll continue to enhance key experiences as well (as) upgrade hardware so that we can offer top performance. For camera and display specs in particular, where we’ve been leading, the S25 at launch will have top-of-the-line upgrades. And we’re also preparing industry-best APs and memory to boost AI performance and offer an overall premium experience.

Some rumors claim that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will have a major camera upgrade, featuring a 200MP primary rear camera, a 50MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide camera.

Camera specifications of the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+ haven't been revealed yet.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, featuring Qualcomm's custom Oryon CPU cores. The chipset will be officially announced at the Snapdragon Summit 2024 event in October.

The Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+ could use the Exynos 2500 processor in most countries. During its earnings call, Samsung named the Exynos 2500 chipset in a rare move, confirming it months before its launch.

The executive hinted that Samsung will work with Google to improve the context of AI conversations. Araujo said, “So, looking forward, we expect to be able to understand the context of conversations and provide a natural conversation and experience across our devices. To achieve this, we’ll strengthen partnerships and collaborations while developing our AI technologies further.

Samsung recently announced its plans to acquire Oxford Semantic Technologies, a UK-based AI firm that works on knowledge graphs, which are extremely important in the AI segment.

So, it is almost confirmed that Samsung is working to improve the AI experience, camera quality, display performance, and overall performance of the Galaxy S25 series.
