While I see VALUE being a huge issue right now, I do think between nVidia and AMD they've done a good job of targeting every price point.
My take on this is I would go with an AMD card for anything under the 4080.
I'm waiting to see how nVidias open-source linux drivers work before I'm upgrading from my 6700xt

At the rate ray-tracing performance is improving, I wouldn't buy now. But if you don't care about ray-tracing, I don't see an issue buying now.

All in all the list is good . But I miss RTX 4070 . Also some Radeons tend to draw a lot of power just playing videos . Meh .For instance , playing video RTX 4070 - 15W , RX 7800XT - 41W .

Very helpful article, thank you. Fortunately I don't need any right now, but if I did I'd scroll right to the bottom and pick the least expensive option that could hold me over to the next generation.
As a side note, the "older models from prior years may be better" is a comment I keep hearing across a wide variety of products, including non-tech. What's going on with our economy?!?

4080 is not 1000 in Europe, even with the tax and all. So I refuse to ever consider that scam of a card. Some cards still go for 1300, even if they are a Super model... 4090? I wont even comment that 1. The prices are outrageous. Anything else is a meh, especially so close to 2025. Id rather wait and see what they sell us next year.

If that were the case, I could always just plug my TV or second monitor to my 5-10W laptop. Problem solved lol. I guess it might become more with the laptop screen, but I guess I can also turn it off and just use my monitor while the movies are playing. Or just get a 4070 and dont do any of that lol. ;p At least solutions exist. Not to mention, my CPU has a build in card too. I wonder if I can use that instead of the main GPU.
