The showroom personnel did not show much interest in selling the vehicle. They were dull like the smart eco mode of the vehicle.

Test rides have started in Bengaluru from today. They only have the top variant. It seems, other variants will take some more time to arrive at the showrooms.
I visited the Jayanagar showroom. They have one Z variant for test ride and one for display.
Below are my observations based on the test ride (vehicle only had run 10kms with 100% charge and showing 82kms range):
WHAT I LIKED:
- The seat is wide, long and comfortable.
- Under seat boot is huge.
- Sitting position is at a good height compared to other EV scooters and even some of the petrol scooters. This feel commanding during the ride.
- Overall build, fit and finish seems to be good.
- Zip mode was fun to ride with more than sufficient power for city rides.
- Brakes were sufficient.
WHAT I DID NOT LIKE:
- The handle bar is bit on the heavier side, you can feel the weight.
- The smart eco mode was very slow to accelerate and no fun at all. This is adequate in stop and go conditions when the traffic is heavy. For all other conditions, this is really not sufficient. Even with full throttle, the vehicle hesitates a lot.
- Since smart eco is no fun at all, you will probably end up using the zip mode most of the times, meaning lesser range.
- The continuous whistle sound which gets louder with speed is really annoying.
- Suspension is not plush, it is slightly on the firmer side (compared to IQUBE).
Few other points:
- I enquired about the delayed deliveries in Bengaluru compared to some of the northern states already getting deliveries. The response was, demand being higher in the north which is contradicting with other statements I had read online that north was not aware much about Ather until their recent marketing!
- The showroom personnel did not show much interest in selling the vehicle. They were dull like the smart eco mode of the vehicle.
I mostly will cancel the pre-booking. Now, I have only the River Indie left to revisit.
