Presented by Carbondale Arts and a team of volunteers, the 53rd Mountain Fair was held Friday through Sunday in downtown Carbondale. Centered on Sopris Park, the free-to-attend festival included bands performing daily from the gazebo, food and arts vendors, and some friendly competition.

Tug-O-Love returned to pit the Carbondale Police against Carbondale Fire in a game of tug-of-war during the 53rd annual Mountain Fair on Saturday, July 27, 2024, in Carbondale. The fire department defended its title in the best-of-three series, winning 2-1.
