Marvel returned to Hall H at San Diego Comic Con 2024. IGN provided live coverage of the Marvel Hall H panel, which featured news about Avengers: Secret Wars, Avengers: Doomsday, Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The biggest reveal was the announcement of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. The longtime face of The Avengers OG Iron Man, RDJ revealed himself to an explosion of cheers from the crowd. A futuristic Fantastic car made its way onto stage to pick up Fantastic Four cast Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Thing) and Julia Garner (The Silver Surfer). Also appearing on stage, this time for Captain America, were Anthony Mackie and crew, with Giancarlo Esposito announced to be playing Sidewinder in the film. We also got footage of Harrison Ford transforming into Red Hulk.Our IGN panelists Kim Horcher, Akeem Lawanson, Amelia Emberwing, Tom Jorgenson, and Brian Altano made their guesses at the next MCU villain in succession after Loki, Ultron, and Thanos. Kang may have a far lesser role to play, making this the perfect time to introduce Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom as a central villain.
