Galaxy S21 FE gets July 2024 security update in Latin America and USA

The Galaxy S21 FE has started getting the July 2024 security update in Latin American countries and the USA.

The new update comes with firmware version G990EXXSAFXG3 in Brazil, Guatemala, Panama, Paraguay, and Trinidad And Tobago. In the US, the update is available for the phone's carrier-locked version with firmware version G990USQSCGXF3 on AT&T, Comcast, Dish Wireless, US Cellular, and Xfinity Mobile networks.

For the Galaxy S21 FE's factory-unlocked version in the US, the new update comes bearing firmware version G990U1UESCGXF3 (SM-G990U1) or G990U2SQSAGXF3 (SM-G990U2), depending on the model number.

You can install the update on your phone by navigating to Settings » Software update » Download and install.

You can also follow the manual firmware flashing process to install the new update. To do that, download the appropriate firmware version from our firmware database and flash it using Samsung's Odin tool

The new update brings the July 2024 security patch, which fixes over 50 security loopholes found in previous software versions. It doesn't bring any performance enhancements or new features. If you were hoping for new features, you have to wait a couple of months more for the phone to get the One UI 6.1.1-based update.

You can check out the new features introduced with One UI 6.1.1 in our video below.

The Galaxy S21 FE's global variant has already received the July 2024 security update. The phone was launched in early 2022 with Android 12 onboard. It received the Android 13 update in late 2022 and the Android 14 update in late 2023. Later this year, it will get the Android 15 update.
