Reading Time: 2 minutesTravelport, a leading global technology firm facilitating travel bookings for numerous travel suppliers worldwide, has partnered with Malaysia Airlines Berhad, the national airline of Malaysia and a subsidiary of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), to integrate enhanced NDC (New Distribution Capability) content into the Travelport+ marketplace.
This collaboration allows Travelport’s agency clients in select regions to seamlessly view, compare, and book dynamic NDC offers from Malaysia Airlines alongside traditional content sources. Utilizing Travelport’s APIs, Smartpoint Cloud, and Smartpoint desktop agency point-of-sale solutions, agents can now fully service NDC bookings, including making modifications, handling cancellations, and managing involuntary changes.
“This launch signifies a monumental step in our modern retailing strategy, as we’ve worked closely with Travelport to ensure our NDC offering is seamless for agencies, allowing them to provide the best options for travelers,” said Dersenish Aresandiran, Chief Commercial Officer of Airlines at MAG. “By making our NDC content more accessible to travel retailers and enabling agents to easily manage and service our NDC bookings through Travelport+, we hope to propel greater NDC adoption.”
“Agents and travelers need the ability to search and book the most relevant products and services from Malaysia Airlines, without any extra effort,” said Jason Clarke, Chief Commercial Officer, Travel Partners at Travelport. “This launch ensures that NDC content from Malaysia Airlines is retail-ready for agencies using Travelport+, and that dynamic fares are displayed in a way that makes it easy to shop, sell and service both NDC and traditional content all in one place.”
Travelport has launched its NDC content and servicing solution for Malaysia Airlines, now accessible to agency customers in Australia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the United Kingdom. In the coming weeks, this feature will be extended to more countries. Agencies connected to Travelport+ can consult their account teams to initiate the Malaysia Airlines NDC activation.
