Olympic Council of Asia designates RandhirSingh as apt candidate

The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Election Committee can ratify that OCA Acting President
Randhir Singh is the exclusive suitable candidate to be designated for voting at the OCA General Assembly on 8 September this year.

The Election Committee, presided by Justice Rohinton Nariman, assessed the resumes and suitability necessities according to OCA Constitution, the instructions and guiding principles of the Election, of all chosen applicants submitted by Member NOCs of OCA by 21 July 2024 time limit.

The Committee universally permitted appointing Mr. Singh who was selected by the NOC of India and backed by 27 Member NOCs of OCA. The Mongolian Olympic Committee President Mr. Battushig Batbold who was selected by the NOC of Mongolia was considered disqualified by the Committee as he does not meet the suitability necessities specified in the OCA Constitution Articles 22.1.2.1, 22.1.2.2 and 22.1.2.3 that the OCA President either need to have functioned as the President of his NOC for as much as eight years or worked as an OCA EB member for as a minimum eight years and must be backed by 2 NOCs.


Afterward, following the meeting, the Committee was notified by an email from the Secretary General NOC of Mongolia, that Mr. Batbold has taken away his contender from the position of the President.
The Committee also assessed all proposals obtained for the five OCA Zonal Vice Presidents and the five OCA Executive Board members who need to be from a diverse region and from a different gender to their
Zonal Vice President.
