The travel group Abta has recommended that travelers verify with their service providers for any additional required actions.
Meanwhile, the Port of Dover announced early Saturday morning that it was accommodating “hundreds of displaced” airport travelers, stressing the importance of confirming bookings before arrival.
Bannister also noted that the port was not impacted by the IT disruption, ensuring that travelers faced no delays or interruptions on Friday.
The disruption originated from a defective software update deployed by CrowdStrike, a leading global cybersecurity firm, which temporarily disabled numerous systems worldwide on Friday, affecting everything from flights and trains to certain healthcare services.
