Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Friday at 10:14AM

Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(up 1.11%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(up 0.82%) and Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(up 0.47%) were among the top gainers.

NMDC Ltd.(down 3.35%), Pokarna Ltd.(down 3.05%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(down 3.05%), 20 Microns Ltd.(down 2.90%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(down 2.83%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(down 2.68%), MOIL Ltd.(down 2.43%), KIOCL Ltd.(down 2.39%), Coal India Ltd.(down 2.05%) and Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(down 0.74%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 105.3 points down at 24695.55, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 222.04 points at 81121.42 at around 10:14AM.

Infosys Ltd.(up 2.97%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 0.9%), ITC Ltd.(up 0.77%), Asian Paints Ltd.(up 0.72%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.67%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.51%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 0.45%), Nestle India Ltd.(up 0.23%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.15%) and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.02%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 3.23%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 3.03%), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 2.78%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 2.54%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 2.2%), Coal India Ltd.(down 2.05%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 2.02%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.75%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 1.54%) and Shriram Finance Ltd.(down 1.53%) were trading in the red.
