China’s Mount Taishan elevates its tourism appeal with the grand opening of the Tianping Lake Tourist Center, offering visitors enhanced access and amenities.

This report comes from the Shandong Bureau of Hong Kong Business Daily.

Recently, Tai’an in Shandong Province witnessed the grand inauguration of the Mount Taishan Tianping Lake Tourist Center, alongside the launch ceremony of the “Dare to” Mount Taishan Express Train.

“When I first arrived at the tourist center, I was attracted by the orderly environment. The ticket buying process was very convenient, and the staff were warm and considerate, patiently answering my various questions. When I got on the through train, the inside was clean and tidy, and the seats were comfortable and spacious. After the train started, it drove smoothly, and the scenery along the way was picturesque. What surprised me most was that the through train was only 10 minutes away from the high-speed railway station, which greatly saved my time and energy. The Mount Taishan through train provided convenience for my trip to Mount Taishan.” Mr. Wang, a tourist from Qingdao, took a family of three to climb Mount Taishan, and visited Mount Taishan as a shortcut. Openness is full of praise.

Mount Taishan Tianping Lake Tourist Center is situated in the southwest part of Tai’an City, offering convenient access just a 10-minute drive from the high-speed railway Tai’an Station and a mere 5-minute drive from the Tai’an North Exit of the expressway. The center is easily navigable for visitors, and those driving themselves can take advantage of free parking. For a scenic route, tourists can take the through bus, bypassing the main urban area and traveling along the picturesque Taohuayuan Road or Huanshan Road directly to the heart of Mount Taishan. From there, visitors can choose to ascend the mountain via the cableway or on foot, making it an efficient and beautiful entry point.

The Mount Taishan through train, named “Dare,” draws inspiration from Tai’an city’s mascots, “Dare” and “Dangdang.” In recent years, Tai’an has leveraged its rich cultural and tourism resources, vigorously promoting the integration of these sectors. This strategic focus has driven significant growth in the cultural and tourism industries. In the first half of 2024 alone, Mount Taishan attracted 4 million visitors, nearing the total annual visitorship of 2019. Other attractions in the area are also experiencing robust development.
