Reading Time: 2 minutesIn a major milestone for Northwest China’s hospitality sector, Minor Hotels (China) has officially signed a dual-branded Tivoli and NH property in Yining, Xinjiang. This significant venture introduces the luxury Tivoli Hotels & Resorts and the upscale NH Hotels & Resorts brands to Northwest China. The project is slated to open its doors to global guests in 2026.
Yining, a vibrant city on China’s western frontier, has a rich history as a vital trade hub on the ancient Silk Road. Today, it continues to be a crucial link between Central Asia and Europe. Renowned for its stunning natural beauty and diverse ethnic cultures, Yining is home to attractions like the Kazak Folk Tourism Area and Six Star Street, drawing both domestic and international tourists.
The new Tivoli and NH hotels will be strategically positioned near key tourist spots and the central business district. Accessibility is a key feature, with convenient connections via highways, high-speed trains, and flights. The expansive 1.6 million square meter project will offer a variety of facilities, including 200 guest rooms for each hotel brand, a commercial zone, a cultural performance center, and residential areas. The cultural performance center will regularly feature music and dance shows, while the commercial area, inspired by the Silk Road’s historic design, aims to offer an exotic shopping and leisure experience.
“We are excited to announce our first dual-branded property of Tivoli and NH Hotels in Northwest China,” said Dillip Rajakarier, Group CEO of Minor International and CEO of Minor Hotels. “With such high profiles and strong reputations throughout Europe, we are confident that the Tivoli and NH brand offerings will appeal to both Chinese and international travellers.”
“The establishment of Tivoli and NH hotels in Yining is expected to significantly improve the local hotel industry landscape, attracting more visitors and contributing meaningfully to the economic development of Yining and the entire Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture,” concluded Eddy Tiftik, VP of Operations & Development for Minor Hotel (China).
