A few days ago, it was rumored that Samsung could equip some Galaxy Tab S10 devices with MediaTek chips. Now, it seems like the company is going all in with MediaTek processors for its next-generation high-end tablets.

All Galaxy Tab S10 models could feature MediaTek Dimensity processors

It was expected that some Galaxy Tab S10 models could have MediaTek Dimensity chips, but reliable tipster Ice Universe has reported that all Galaxy Tab S10 models will feature MediaTek chips. These tablets are rumored to be launched in October 2024.

If this information is accurate, this is a bold yet logical move from Samsung, especially as prices of Qualcomm's high-end chips have shot through the roof in recent years. It would be the first time in seven years that a flagship Galaxy tablet will feature a non-Qualcomm chip.

A few days ago, the US variant of the Galaxy Tab S10+ was spotted in Geekbench's database. It revealed that the device is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor, the company's current-generation flagship chip.

Is Dimensity 9300+ powerful enough?

The MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ is a 4nm chip featuring eight high-performance CPU cores and an extremely powerful GPU. It has one Cortex-X4 CPU core clocked at 3.4GHz, three Cortex-X4 CPU cores running at 2.85GHz, and four Cortex-A720 CPU cores clocked at 2GHz.

Its ARM Immortalis-G720 MC12 GPU can drive a 4K screen at 120Hz and features HDR gaming. Tests have shown that this GPU is more powerful than the one inside the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The chip is compatible with LPDDR5X/LPDDR5T DRAM and UFS 4.0 storage.

The chip features mmWave and sub-6GHz 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and USB Type-C port. It has tri-band GPS, quad-band BDS, tri-band Galileo, dual-band QZSS, GLONASS, and NavIC.

The Dimensity 9300+'s image signal processor (ISP) supports up to 320MP camera sensors and can record up to 8K 30fps or 4K 60fps videos.

With all these features and capable hardware, expect the Galaxy Tab S10 series to be a gaming and multitasking powerhouse.
