There’s a new ski and snowboard official in town.
Ash Farrington, a former Santa Clara University law school development officer, has been appointed by the Aspen Ski and Snowboard Club (AVSC) as its new director of development.
According to the AVSC, she successfully stewarded relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners at SCU. AVSC said she brings extensive experience across all facets of development, including managing special events, engaging volunteers, and cultivating frontline fundraising at the annual and major giving levels.
AVSC Executive Director Dave Baugh expressed confidence in her appointment.
“Ash will be an invaluable addition to our community,” he said in a Thursday news release. “She deeply understands our mission and holds a steadfast commitment to enhancing the club’s vision through the power of philanthropy. Her established expertise will help AVSC achieve many of our ambitious goals in the near- and long-term.”
Prior to her role at Santa Clara, Farrington served in prominent nonprofit organizations in San Francisco and Chicago, including the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation and the Arthritis Foundation. During her tenure, she held leadership roles and managed critical donor portfolios, effectively garnering support from individuals, foundations, and corporations alike.
AVSC said she is a lifelong athlete fueled by her dedication to fostering the character development of children through sports.
“I am thrilled to join the AVSC family, a remarkable club with a strong mission, a history of athletic excellence, and a commitment to community access,” she said in the release. “I am inspired by the welcoming group of athletes, staff, and parents who share a passion for nurturing the values of commitment, teamwork, and integrity among our valley’s youth, both on and off the mountain.”
She and her husband, Ian, reside in Snowmass with their four young children.
