These new agreements highlight the strong demand from both owners and guests for IHG’s diverse brand portfolio, which includes Luxury and Lifestyle (Hotel Indigo), Premium (voco hotels), and Essentials (Holiday Inn Express) collections. Spain remains a priority growth market for IHG in Europe, underscoring its strategic importance.

In Spain, IHG’s robust Holiday Inn brand family presence continues to thrive, bolstered by owners’ unwavering confidence in its essential powerhouse attributes. The country has experienced significant growth in recent years, marked by notable openings and brand introductions within IHG’s luxury and lifestyle collection, including Six Senses Ibiza and Kimpton Vividora Barcelona. Luxury & Lifestyle
Hotel Indigo in Jerez de la Frontera: Set to open in spring 2026, this hotel will be the fifth Hotel Indigo in Spain. Partnered with Senator Hotels & Resorts, the 82-room hotel will merge two independent buildings (Plaza Arenal and Calle Larga) in Jerez’s city centre. Each building will showcase Hotel Indigo’s distinctive neighborhood design, offering a gateway to explore the city’s most inspiring locales. The hotel will feature a ground floor bar, top floor bar and restaurant, an exterior terrace, and a rooftop swimming pool.
Premium
voco Granada: Also opening in spring 2026, this hotel marks IHG’s debut in Granada and will be the second voco property in Spain. In collaboration with Senator Hotels & Resorts, voco Granada will offer 167 rooms in a prime location near the historic centre of Granada, close to transport links and the convention centre.
Essentials
Holiday Inn Express Seville – City: This 148-room converted hotel, the third property signed with Senator Hotels & Resorts, is scheduled to open in spring 2026. It will feature the brand’s signature Express Start Breakfast with hot, fresh offerings, along with a fitness area, rooftop terrace, and swimming pool. Conveniently situated within a shopping centre in a residential area, the hotel provides an ideal location between Seville’s city centre and the international airport, catering to both business and leisure travellers.
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sabadell: Expected to join the IHG portfolio in late 2025, this hotel will introduce IHG’s first “& suites” offering in Spain, boasting 130 rooms, including 20 long-stay suites for mid-to-long-term guests and families. Partnered with Gestion T3 Hoteles, the hotel will feature the brand’s signature Express Start Breakfast, a restaurant, meeting rooms, a fitness centre, and an outdoor swimming pool. Located near Sabadell and main ring roads, the property offers easy access to Barcelona, reachable within a 25-minute drive.
IHG currently operates 55 hotels across eight brands in Spain, including Six Senses, InterContinental, Kimpton, Hotel Indigo, voco, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn Express, and Holiday Inn. In the past five years, IHG has opened over ten new hotels in the country, such as Kimpton Vividora, InterContinental Barcelona, Six Senses Ibiza, and voco Madrid – Retiro. The company also has a robust pipeline of 12 properties, including the upcoming Staybridge Suites Malaga, marking the brand’s debut in Spain.
In 2022, IHG signed a long-term commercial agreement with the award-winning Iberostar Hotels & Resorts, making Iberostar its 18th brand and significantly expanding its presence in the resort and all-inclusive hotel market. Up to 70 hotels (24,300 rooms) will join IHG’s system under the Iberostar Beachfront Resorts brand. IHG guests can anticipate memorable stays in these award-winning hotels, which range from family-friendly premium options to adult-only luxury in top resort destinations, including Iberostar Grand Paraiso (Riviera Maya, Mexico); Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus (Bayahibe, Dominican Republic); Iberostar Grand Rose Hall (Montego Bay, Jamaica); and Iberostar Selection Anthelia (Tenerife, Spain).
