Keolis North America is pleased to announce an agreement with Student Transportation of America (STA) to acquire two business lines from Pacific Western Transportation (PWT): Transit and Motorcoach. This acquisition marks a significant expansion of Keolis’ operations in Canada. Upon completion, Keolis’ presence in the country will double, adding around 550 operated vehicles across 23 municipalities, 1,100 employees, and annual revenues of approximately 115 million Canadian dollars (84 million USD) in 2023. This move will solidify Keolis’ position as the leading operator of urban transportation, intercity buses, and on-demand buses in Western Canada.

The Transit and Motorcoach business entities included in this agreement are PWTransit Canada Ltd., Prince George Transit Ltd., Whistler Transit Ltd., Pacific Western Charters Ltd., and Red Arrow Express Ltd., which encompass the Ebus and Red Arrow brands. This transaction will expand Keolis’ geographic footprint in Canada, complementing its existing operations in Quebec and Ontario. It will reinforce Keolis’ position as the preferred operator for public transportation authorities in Canada.

Under the agreement, Keolis will provide safe and reliable transportation services across the Transit and Motorcoach lines in Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario. The company will leverage local expertise while incorporating international best practices from its operations in 13 countries for over 300 public transportation authorities.

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions in Canada, including regulatory approvals.
