Bhopal, July 10 (Udaipur Kiran): On Wednesday, the world-famous Jyotirlinga Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain witnessed the special adornment of Lord Mahakal in the form of Lord Ganesh during the Bhasma Aarti on the auspicious occasion of Ashadh Shukla Panchami. Hundreds of devotees gathered to witness and seek blessings from the divine form of Lord Mahakal.
Devotees chanted “Jai Baba Mahakal,” filling the temple with the echo of the divine praises. According to tradition, the temple doors opened at four in the morning, and priests performed the ritual bathing of Lord Mahakal with water. This was followed by anointing the deity with a mixture of milk, curd, ghee, honey, and fruit juices known as Panchamrit.
Lord Mahakal was adorned with a silver moon on His forehead, along with symbols of Om and Tripundra. Fragrant flowers of mogra were offered, and the deity was dressed in the form of Lord Ganesh. During the Bhasma Aarti, Lord Mahakal was further adorned with bhang, sandalwood, vermillion, and various ornaments. His head was crowned with a silver Sheshnag, and a garland of silver beads and Rudraksha was placed around His neck.
Offerings of fruits and sweets were made to the deity. A large number of devotees attended the Bhasma Aarti and sought blessings from Baba Mahakal. Devotees also paid homage to Nandi Maharaj, whispering their wishes into his ears to seek blessings for their fulfillment.
