LIVE Netherlands vs England Euro 2024 score: NED 1-1 ENG; Second-half underway, Brits dominate possession

Watkins and Palmer have been subbed in for Harry Kane and Foden.

Walker cuts it into the box for Saka who taps it into the net, However Foden’s pass to Walker was called offside!

Gakpo crosses it from the left to Weghorst who sets it up for Simons but his volley isn’t connected properly, bounces straight to the keeper.

Simons plays a solid through to Gakpo on the left after Weghorst chests the long ball down. But the pass is intercepted.

Yellow card to Bellingham for a late tackle on De Vrij.

Gakpo crosses from the left wing as Pickford comes out and punches it out for a corner. 

A free-kick from the right for Netherlands as the cross goes into the box for Van Dijk but his shot is saved well by Pickford!!!

Netherlands wins the ball on the left and Gakpo breaks into an attack. Eventually Veerman plays a cross on the far post for Weghorst but puts too much power into it.

England is finding it difficult to penetrate the Dutch defense. Netherlands is playing very deep at this point. Looks like it is not looking for any goals at the moment.

It has been a slow start to the second half. England is passing it around in the midfield while Netherlands no longer has its blistering pace after Malen and Depay’s departure.

England is holding the ball and will be hoping to continue its new-found momentum.

England and Netherlands play out a 1-1 draw in the first half as this has by far been England’s best performance in Euro so far. It has attacked with intent and made some great chances. Netherlands is relying on counters and its pace on the transition as been a problem for England. Depay’s injury is also a big factor that could affect the result of the game.

England passes it around the Dutch box and switches the wing from right to left. Trippier plays a cross in for Foden but the keeper intercepts.

Foden takes another shot from distance but lacked the power, too low and easy for the keeper.

Depay has been subbed off early due to an injury. He is replaced by Joey Veerman.

Mainoo chips it ahead for Kane in the final third but puts too much into it. The keeper collects.

Foden takes a touch in the midfield and fires a left footed curler which hits the left post!

Dumfries hits a header off of a corner and connects well but hits the crossbar!!!

Netherlands breaks into a quick attack on the right as Depay threads a ball into the box for Malen but he is stopped by a perfect sliding tackle.

England was on the prowl and was building up well but Xavi Simons goes deep and capitalises off of a heavy touch by Bellingham.

Foden gets the ball into the box on left by Mainoo as he dribbles into the box and tries to finish into the goal, beats the keeper but Dumfires makes a clutch goalline save!

Mainoo plays a dink into the final third for Foden but the Dutch defenders close in on him quickly.

Euro 2024 semifinal: Why was England awarded a penalty by VAR against Netherlands?

Seven minutes later, Harry Kane was caught in by Denzel Dumfries inside the Dutch penalty box, after which Kane went down clutching his feet.

Kane converts the penalty, after a powerful strike in the bottom left corner!

Saka takes a shot which comes off a defender and falls to Kane who’s volley goes over the post. There was a penalty check by VAR since Dumfries struck Kane’s foot after he made contact with the ball during the volley. After a brief check, penalty was given!

Harry Kane takes a shot from distance but it is saved comfortably by the Dutch keeper.

England’s free-kick lacked quality as Netherlands broke into a counter but Saka was quick to react and won the ball back before going down. Another free-kick for England. Trippier slots it into the far post for Rice who cuts it back to Kane but the ball is intercepted inside the box!

Xavi Simons steals the ball from Rice and dribbles down the middle, takes a shot from distance and finds the top left corner!

England’s Saka wins the ball in the right flank and dribbles central but fails to find a teammate.

Netherlands wins the ball in its own half and breaks into an attack straight away. It breaches the English box but the keeper saves it.

England is holding the ball and passing it around in the middle of the park. It hasn’t breached Netherlands’ final third yet.

The match begins as England kicks the game off hoping to fare better in its attacking than it has done so far in the tournament!
