Hudson Welcomes New Multi-Purpose Pathway with $3.4 Million Investment

The Town of Hudson is set to receive a new multi-purpose pathway for walking and cycling, thanks to a collaborative investment of $$3.4 million from both the federal government and the Town of Hudson. This initiative aims to redevelop Lakeview and Selkirk Streets, enhancing the community’s infrastructure.

The announcement was made by MP Peter Schiefke and Mayor Chloe Hutchison, highlighting the project’s goal to promote active travel for all residents, including seniors, students, and young families.

Central to this project is the construction of a 1.2-kilometre multi-purpose pathway along Lakeview Street, designed to provide a safe and accessible corridor for both pedestrians and cyclists in the neighborhood.

The pathway will also extend along Selkirk Street, allowing seamless pedestrian and cyclist movement from Lakeview Street into the village. This extension will feature a crosswalk leading to the nearby municipal park, further integrating the pathway into the community’s recreational spaces.

In addition to the pathway, the project includes the implementation of various traffic calming measures to slow down vehicle speeds and enhance safety in the residential area.

Once completed, this new infrastructure will encourage active transportation among Hudson residents, offering a safe and enjoyable route for seniors and young people to engage in outdoor activities.
