New Delhi, July 8 (Udaipur Kiran) – Several states across India are experiencing severe disruption due to heavy rainfall. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Konkan, Goa, Central Maharashtra, and Coastal Karnataka on Monday, with similar conditions likely to persist in these regions for the next 4-5 days. The monsoon trough is highly active, causing heavy rains in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya over the next two to three days.
The department has indicated that there will be no relief for Mumbai in the next two days, as rainfall is expected to continue. Additionally, parts of West Madhya Pradesh are forecasted to experience heavy (64.5-115.5 mm) to very heavy (115.5-204.4 mm) rainfall on July 8 and 11, 2024. Central Maharashtra is also likely to witness heavy (64.5-115.5 mm) to very heavy (115.5-204.4 mm) and extremely heavy (>204.4 mm) rainfall on July 8.
Over the next five days, heavy rainfall is anticipated across many parts of Central, North-East, and neighboring Eastern India, as well as Uttar Pradesh.
