Art and Americana music: Snowmass in July

New and returning events heat up in Snowmass Village in July. 

Anderson Ranch Arts Center will host its annual art auction and community picnic Saturday, July 13. Silent auctions of more than 200 art pieces by top contemporary and local artists will take place alongside art-based activities for all ages, picnic-style food, and live music. It is part of the arts center’s Recognition Week which kicks off July 8 with a recognition dinner held Thursday, Jul 11. All proceeds will benefit Anderson Ranch educational programs.

The Snowmass Art Festival will take place July 13-14 and will showcase local and national artists representing a wide range of mediums including painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, glass, wood, and more. The festival is free and the artwork is individually priced. The festival will take place noon-8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.



Youth baseball teams will gather for the Triple Crown World Series on July 17. The Triple Crown World Series is a valley-wide sporting event featuring youth baseball games. It is headquartered in Snowmass where opening ceremonies will take place, and games will be played on fields in Glenwood Springs, Carbondale, Basalt, Snowmass, and Aspen from July 17-21.

A new Snowmass Americana Music Series is coming to snowmass July 20 and 27. It features local Colorado bands playing Americana genres from bluegrass, to folk, to country. All shows are free and will be at 7 p.m. at the Rock Garden Stage on the Snowmass Mall. Heavy Diamond Ring will play July 20 and Westrock will play July 27. The series will continue on Aug. 3 and 10. 




Also new to Snowmass this summer is the community dog wash on July 21 and Aug. 25. From 10 a.m.-2 p.m., dog owners are encouraged to bring their dogs to Base Village for a community dog day, where a local groomer and pet store will be available for free nail clippings and treats. There will also be a do-it-yourself dog washing station and dog costumes and photo opportunities. 

Heritage Fire will return to Snowmass July 27. The three-hour tasting event will feature family farms and local chefs in a walk-around reception of food tasting.
