Mumbai, July 7 (Udaipur Kiran) – Heavy rains in Mumbai and its suburbs since last night have resulted in significant flooding in areas such as Sion, Hindmata, Dadar, Matunga, Bhandup, Andheri, and Kurla. Rainwater has accumulated on the railway tracks, disrupting services on the Central and Harbor lines. Western Railway services have also been significantly delayed due to the heavy rains.

Mumbai recorded approximately 300 mm of rainfall overnight. This has led to flooding in the city’s low-lying areas, including Andheri Subway, Milan Subway, and Malad Subway, severely impacting road traffic. Municipal corporation workers are using pumps to remove water from these subways. The heavy rainfall has also affected the Central Railway and Harbor Railway services. Local trains from Thane to Vashi are completely halted, and the rail traffic from Thane to Mumbai is currently suspended.

The Mahalaxmi Express from Kolhapur to Mumbai has been stuck at Ambernath station for about two hours. In light of this situation, long-distance express trains on the Central Railway have been canceled. The Singhgarh Express and Deccan Queen from Pune to Mumbai have also been canceled.
