Landon Caldwell Lives on in our Hearts

On June 9 at 12:04 AM, Landon Wayne Caldwell, 48, of Aspen; beloved father, partner, brother, son, and friend, was taken from us too soon.

Landon is survived by his daughter, Zoie Grace Caldwell and her mother, Jinger Hamilton of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, his mother Bridget White, his siblings, Rechielle Blackwell, Stacie Waynette Caldwell-Downing, Shawnna Caldwell, Candiss White, Dallas White, and his faithful dog, Otis. He was pre-deceased by his father, George Wayne Caldwell and his grandparents, Caroll Caldwell, Norma Lee Caldwell, Betty Callison and Donald Trundle.

Born on Dec. 17, 1975, in Pryor, Oklahoma, Landon spent his early years growing up in Arkansas, where he developed a love for the river and the great outdoors. He began his career in construction with the family business, Caldwell Construction.

In the late 90’s, Landon followed his passion for the outdoors to Buena Vista, Colorado on a Greyhound bus with his kayak in tow to be a river guide for Buffalo Joe’s Whitewater Rafting where he met many friends he had for the rest of his life as well as the mother of his daughter, Zoie Caldwell. From the time she was born, Landon got endless joy in spending time with Zoie camping, rafting, fishing, and later attending all her hockey games.

As an adult, Landon founded his own flooring company, Between the Peaks Flooring in Summit County, Colorado. He also worked as a professional fly-fishing guide for Trouts in Frisco, CO. In 2016, Landon moved to Aspen, Colorado where he became a project manager for Aspen Construction.

A few months before he passed away, Landon had purchased a pop-up camper and had already taken many camping trips in it with Zoie, Jinger, and Otis. He planned to retire someday traveling the country in a big RV.

Landon was a big guy with a big heart who always stood up for what he believed in. He was generous to a fault, and it would be hard to find a friend of his that he hadn’t taken fishing or bought a beer for at his favorite spot, Home Team. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and community.

There will be a gathering of friends at Home Team on July 9. Please RSVP to landoliveson@outlook.com There will also be a celebration of life planned by his daughter in Buena Vista, Colorado as well as one planned by his extended family in Northwest Arkansas.
