During a recent event in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah commended the Gujarat government’s decision to offer a 50 percent subsidy on IFFCO Nano Urea and Nano DAP. He advised farmers against the simultaneous use of nano fertilizers and conventional urea, citing potential harm to soil fertility.

“Using both nano range fertilizers and conventional urea simultaneously can damage soil fertility. It’s advisable to only apply Nano Urea and Nano DAP, as these are sufficient for crops and help preserve the soil,” Shah explained.

He further highlighted that the Gujarat government’s subsidy initiative is aimed at promoting the adoption of nano fertilizers among farmers, supporting sustainable agricultural practices.

To advance sustainable agriculture, the Gujarat government has launched a special scheme, providing a 50 percent subsidy on Nano Urea and Nano DAP (Di-Ammonium Phosphate). This subsidy is intended to alleviate financial burdens on farmers, enhance crop yields, and encourage the adoption of sustainable farming methods that contribute to long-term agricultural productivity and environmental health.
