These seasoned professionals are set to enhance our luxury guest experiences and culinary delights, aligning with our ongoing commitment to innovation and superior service.
Enhancements in Zambia’s Hotel Leadership
At The Royal Livingstone Victoria Falls Zambia Hotel by Anantara, we welcome Longa Mulikelela as the new Hotel Manager. Bringing nearly two decades of experience in hospitality management, Mulikelela has earned accolades for his leadership and holds prestigious certifications from Cornell University, ACCA, UNICAF University Zambia, and The Hotel and Tourism Training Institute.
His career trajectory includes high-level positions in several premier hotels across Africa, specializing in areas such as hotel launches, operations, revenue management, and CSR initiatives. Mulikelela is also a proud member of the Institute of Hospitality and ACCA, marrying his academic achievements with extensive field expertise.
South African native, Beatrice Ellis, steps in as the Hotel Manager at Avani Victoria Falls Resort. Known for her guest-focused approach and operational expertise, Ellis has built an impressive resume across global luxury resorts and hotels, including Mount Grace in South Africa, Anantara Dhigu Maldives, and the Prince of Wales Hotel in the UK. She holds qualifications in Business Strategy and Executive Leadership from Cornell University and is noted for initiatives like establishing sustainable gardens to enhance guest experiences while promoting environmentally friendly practices.
Laurie Burr will continue as the Complex General Manager overseeing both The Royal Livingstone and Avani Victoria Falls Resort.
At Avani Victoria Falls Resort, Chef Tuwan Halikeen Mohamed steps up as Executive Chef, bringing over 23 years of culinary distinction from top-tier hotels globally, including stints at Raffles and Fairmont in Doha and Burj Al Arab in Dubai. Chef Tuwan is known for his innovation and commitment to quality, focusing on local ingredients and modern culinary techniques.
Advancements in Mozambique’s Hospitality
In Mozambique, Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort welcomes Christian Sanchez as the new General Manager. With a varied background across Senegal, Portugal, and Spain and education from Les Roches Hotel School of Management in Switzerland, Sanchez has developed a deep understanding of the hospitality industry. His impressive background includes roles at top-tier establishments like Montauk Yacht Club and prestigious brands like Accor, Melia, and Hilton.
Before his new role, he managed Anantara Maia Seychelles and has now set his sights on elevating the luxury experience at Anantara Bazaruto.
