Reading Time: 2 minutesThe Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has initiated a Concept and Price Revenue tender to develop and operate a wellness attraction at the Marina South Coastal site. This project forms a crucial component of STB’s strategy to enhance wellness tourism, providing comprehensive and immersive wellness experiences for visitors.
Spanning 4 hectares along the waterfront, the site will prominently feature the wellness attraction as a cornerstone of the precinct. It will complement nearby landmarks like Gardens by the Bay, Founders’ Memorial in Bay East, and Marina Barrage.
STB seeks proposals that introduce innovative, high-quality concepts fostering physical, emotional, and mental wellness. These may encompass therapeutic art, tech-driven experiences such as flotation or light and frequency therapies, alternative health treatments, and fitness or recovery activities, including water-based and equipment-based options.
Furthermore, the wellness attraction must offer a robust calendar of wellness-themed events or programs, both onsite and in surrounding public spaces. These initiatives aim to engage both tourists and residents alike, enhancing the overall appeal of the area.
Ms Carrie Kwik, Executive Director, World Expo and Special Projects, Singapore Tourism Board said: “With the rising demand for more restorative and wellness-related experiences, we believe Singapore is well-placed to be a leading Urban Wellness destination that prioritises holistic well-being. The tender marks a significant stride towards realising our wellness ambition as we leverage Singapore’s existing strengths in accessibility, technology and as a strong business hub. This wellness attraction will contribute to Singapore’s tourism sector by giving travellers more compelling reasons to extend their stay and spend more in Singapore. Locals will also get to enjoy the wide range of wellness offerings available.”
The tender welcomes bids from both local and international participants and will be active for three months, closing on October 4, 2024, for proposal submissions.
